Back from San Severino Marche, Italy

I just spent the week in San Severino Marche, Italy.

Le Marche is like the South Dakota of Italian regions. Mysterious, unknown, yet strangely beautiful. Either way, I ate pork like a motherfucker, and fornicated very little.

I also read Animal Farm by George Orwell in Italian. A very intelligent and well-written book, actually. I hadn’t read it since I was twelve.

For more about Le Marche, see: Sunset Over Castello al Monte, or Ciauscolo: the Champagne of Sausages.

How did I end up in Spain? Why am I still here almost 20 years later? Excellent questions. With no good answer... Anyway, at some point I became a blogger, bestselling author and contributor to Lonely Planet. So there's that. Drop me a line, I'm happy to hear from you.
